The Houston Fire Department announced it finished a prescribed fire at two parks on Wednesday, but residents could still see or smell smoke nearby over the next few days.
Judge Lina Hidalgo said the wildfire near Greens Bayou is still burning, but remains contained. Fire crews said they would be watching the wind closely on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, fire officials said the fire is now 200 acres and remains 75% contained. So far, no properties are threatened, and no evacuations have been ordered, but authorities urged residents to remain on alert.
On Tuesday's City of Houston Public Safety Committee meeting, fire and police officials presented an overview of what happens within their department when one of the vehicles is involved in a crash.
