HCSO busts treasure trove of drugs, guns, self-help literature
HARRIS COUNTY (KTRK) -- A drug bust at a northwest Harris County residence yielded dozens of pounds of drugs, thousands of dollars in currency, several firearms and -- interestingly -- self-improvement and business books.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office says it raided a home in the 14400 block of Kenley Orchard lane after receiving tips of heavy, suspicious foot traffic in and out of the residence. It's believed the two-story red brick home in the Longwood Village neighborhood was the site of a major drug production and distribution operation.
Neighbors tell Eyewitness News they would often see a car drive into the garage. The door would close and minutes later, the car would leave. They also noticed that the residents would haul off trash in the middle of the night despite the twice-weekly trash pickup.
"You don't see that a lot, so that's pretty shocking," said Ryan Anderson who lives nearby.
During the bust, authorities found:
- 33 Lbs. of edible marijuana in different forms, including cupcakes and Rice Krispy bars
- 83 lbs. of THC
- 264 ounces of Promethazine and Codeine
- 26 bars of Xanax
- 14 lbs. of marijuana
- (2) AR-15s, an AK-47 short-barreled gun, a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun and two handguns
- A SKS rifle and a bolt action type rifle
- $3,000 in currency
- A copy of John C. Maxwell's 'How Successful People Think' and several business books
Juston Dew, 21, and Octivous Williams, 25, were each charged with manufacturing and delivery and possession with intent to deliver. They remain in jai with no bond.
