HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Big flames are filling the north side area with light which has led to multiple calls into HCSO from residents and motorists.

but Harris County dispatchers say there's no need to worry. The flames are part of a scheduled controlled burn in a heavily wooded area just north of FM 1960 along the south bank of Cypress Creek.

The fire is burning a big wood pile that was stacked. The area around it was cleared out to make sure the flames don't spread. Firefighters are on hand as well just as a precaution.
