Dash cam video released from fatal South Carolina shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (KTRK) -- Dashcam video was released Thursday from the police shooting in South Carolina, where an officer killed an unarmed black man.

The video is about four minutes long. It appears routine. Officer Michael Slager tells Walter Scott he pulled him over for a broken tail light and asks for his license and registration.

Scott says he doesn't have any registration or insurance on it. He says he's about to buy the car.

Slager goes back to his patrol car. Scott gets out once. Slager orders him back in the car and then a few seconds later, Scott gets out and runs.

Officer Slager chases after him and later fatally shoots him.
