Charges filed against driver in teen jogger's fatal hit and run accident

SHEPHERD, TX (KTRK) -- A 43-year-old Cleveland man has been charged in the hit-and-run accident that killed a 19-year-old jogger.

Larry Wayne Duncan, 43, of Cleveland, Texas was formally charged with failure to stop and render aid resulting in a death.

Josey Scott was running her routine route near FM 2666 at Red Road, just west of Shepherd, when a car struck her from behind. The driver never stopped.

However, authorities say after news reports aired the crash, Duncan turned himself into authorities Wednesday at the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office.
