BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A Baytown police officer shot and killed a pit bull that was attacking him during an arrest, police say.
Police say that an officer was trying to arrest a shoplifting suspect on Wednesday who was involved in a confrontation in a parking lot of a business with one of the store employees. That's when the dog attacked him.
He shot the pit bull and the animal died, police say.
The officer suffered cuts to the arm and was transported to a nearby hospital.
