Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's trial on securities fraud charges has been moved to Harris County, a judge ordered Tuesday.

State District Judge George Gallagher ordered the trial moved out of Collin County, where Paxton resides.

Paxton has been charged with two counts of securities fraud, and one count of failing to register with state securities regulators in private business deals in 2011 and 2012.

Paxton, who has pleaded not guilty, could face up to 99 years in prison if convicted.

A new trial date has not yet been set.
