HUNTSVILLE, TX (KTRK) -- Two brothers are in the hospital after a fire ripped through their single wide trailer in the Hunstville area.
The flames broke out early this morning at the mobile home located on Main Street in the Lake Watson Community in Walker County.
Firefighters had initial reports of an explosion and arrived to find the home fully involved in flames.
There were two victims on scene, a 47-year-old male and his 48-year-old brother. One of the men was sleeping in the rear bedroom of the home when the fire broke out. He suffered serious burns and was airlifted to the Hermann Burn Center.
The second victim was sleeping in the living room. He sustained minor burns and some cuts from breaking out a window. He was taken to Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
Firefighters have not determined the cause of the fire, but the say the brothers were using portable space heaters as their primary heat source. Firefighters also point out the mobile home did not have any working smoke detectors.
