Restaurant Feeds Flooding Victims
M&M Southern Creole Kitchen donates meals to flooding victims

RICHMOND, TX (KTRK) -- A local restaurant is stepping up to help flooding evacuees and first responders in Fort Bend County. M&M Southern Creole Kitchen is calling it's campaign, "Feeding our Flooded Friends & Rescuers." The small southern Creole kitchen is preparing meals for people in need and also for first responders assisting with rescues/evacuations.

The restaurant announced its campaign on Facebook.

"To me the basis of creole and soul is comfort food," said M&M Southern Creole Kitchen owner, Melanie Smith. "And so I think that it's important that we try to use our windows to feed not just the tummies but the souls of the community."

If you would like to help, donations can be dropped off at M&M Southern Creole Kitchen via credit card or by emailing the restaurant the form posted on Facebook.

Smith says her goal is to donate meals at shelters and make the meals available for pickup.
