HOUSTON (KTRK) -- She allegedly tried to hire a hit man to kill her husband. Now a Montgomery County woman has been sentenced 20 years after accepting a plea deal.
Maria Sosa was arrested back in 2015 for targeting her husband, Roman Sosa.
According to court records, back in July of 2015, Maria Sosa paid a person who she thought was a hit man $500 and her husband's wedding ring to kill Roman.
That hit man turned out to be an undercover DPS officer.
Roman Sosa told us back in 2015 that he and his wife were getting a divorce.
Court records indicate Maria told undercover officers that Roman would be of better use dead, something he talked about after the arrest.
People say all the time, "'I'll kill you' just for being mad. 'I'll kill that person or whatever, but to actually go through the steps? It hurts a lot."
Maria Sosa allegedly smiled when she saw a fake picture that appeared to show her husband dead.
