HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed after not being seen by a driver in north Harris County, HCSO says.

The video above is from ABC13's live-streaming channel.

The accident happened at about 12:34 a.m. on FM 1960 Road W.

A man driving a Dodge Ram in the westbound lane struck a man who was crossing the westbound lane near Ella simultaneously.

The impact caused the pedestrian to be projected into the air and land north of the road, officials determined.

The driver eventually came to a stop.

Emergency personnel arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene, HCSO said.

Investigators determined that the man did not use the crosswalk, which is said to be about 200 feet from where the accident occurred.

Officials determined that the driver, who stayed on the scene, had no signs of intoxication.

This case remains open and will be investigated by the HCSO's Vehicular Crimes Division.
