Man charged in Patton Village house fire near where body was found

PATTON VILLAGE, Texas (KTRK) -- A man has been arrested for the arson of a home in Patton Village. A body was recovered near the house fire.

Aaron Phillips has been charged with arson and is out on a $150,000 bond.

Jason Gilbert and Aaron Phillips were the last known occupants of the home.

Officials identified the body as belonging to Gilbert, 37.

Firefighters responded to the house fire early Wednesday morning on South Lakeview. Investigators discovered a blood soaked mattress in the backyard of the fire scene. They found the body near the home Thursday night.
