Motorcyclist falls to his death on Gulf Freeway after losing control, HPD says

I-610 southbound ramps closed after fatal motorcycle accident
Police said someone reported a motorcycle falling off the freeway which killed the cyclist riding it.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The I-610 southbound ramps on Gulf Freeway reopened Sunday afternoon after briefly closing so police could investigate a motorcycle accident that killed the person riding it.

The accident happened on Sunday around 11:25 a.m. near I-45 and Broadway.

According to officers, the 44-year-old man was going northbound on Gulf Freeway towards I-610 East at a high speed when he lost control and went off the ramp on to the service road. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

There was no word on the identity of the person who died.
