HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer is charged with misuse of information for allegedly accepting bribes from tow truck drivers.

Investigators say Officer Charles Russell went around the normal bidding process and contacted two drivers to tow vehicles illegally parked in downtown. Russell received favors in return.

He's scheduled to appear in court Friday.
