HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Community leaders on Houston's south side gathered Saturday to lead the third "Stop the Violence" peace walk.
"We're just hurting right now, we're hurt," a community leader said. "I just like the idea that the community is coming out to support us to do whatever it takes to stop the crime."
Family members of victims related to gun violence joined the walk with the goal to save lives and "reclaim their community."
Community leaders said they will continue to hold peace walks in different high crime areas throughout the city of Houston. Also, leaders hope the efforts will help communities speak out against gun violence.
