For this homeowner mold is an $8,500 problem

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A local homeowner is warning others about mold that can be hidden in your walls.

Bryan Seitz says a drywall expert found mold in his home after receiving a mold certificate from a restoration cleaning company.

Seitz was left with a hefty $8,500 bill in order to remove the mold from his home.

Drywall expert Justin Tracy warns homeowners to use moldicide and not bleach when treating mold. And spray when it's wet and again when dry.

If you have exterior gypsum, the wall between the brick and inside, check the moisture with a moisture meter to prevent trapping mold.
