HOUSTON -- This is a fun DIY project for kids and adults, and it will help save some money this holiday season. You don't have to spend a lot of money to wrap your Christmas gifts just head on over to your local craft store and pick up a few items to create this one of a kind wrapping paper; it is almost a gift in itself.
Items Needed
White or brown paper roll
Wilton Cookie Cutters
Deco Art glass paint markers
Christmas ribbon
Christmas floral pick
First, roll out the white or brown paper to the size of the gift you will be wrapping, if you don't know the size of the gift, be sure to decorate a lot of paper just in case. You can use one cookie cutter or a bunch of cookie cutters to decorate your paper. I used 1 cookie cutter at a time and traced the inside of the cookie cutter, though you could trace the outside of it too, depending on how big you want your design to be.
I didn't color my pictures in but you can also do that for a more colorful design. Once you are done covering your paper with designs, wrap your gift and then make a decorative bow using the bowdabra.
To make a bow, use your bowdabra and place the ribbon through the slot and press down, then make a loop and run the ribbon back through the slot.
Twist the ribbon and make another loop. Follow these instructions to make four loops on each side.
For the tale of the bow, after you have made your loops pull the ribbon as long as you want your tails to be and cut it, then place the end of the ribbon back through the slot to make a bigger loop.
Pull the bow out and make a loop with the small end on the bottom for you top loop. Tie a pipe cleaner through both loops and twist it to hold the bow together.
Spread your loops apart and fluff them. Cut the big loop in the middle and make a decorative end by folding it in half and cut at an angle. Hot glue the floral pics into the edges of the ribbon for an added touch.
