Fireworks, fun and food are wonderful reminders that summer is officially here. Having a 4th of July party is a great way to celebrate the summer and it's pretty easy if you follow these party decorating ideas. You can create a little or go all out decorating your home for the holiday, stop by your local retail store for inexpensive table setting pieces like plates and cups and don't be afraid to ask for a little help from some of the wonderful local bakers in town, or you could even bake some of the goodies yourself. You can also keep it fun and healthy for the kids with the Wilton chocolate dipped strawberries and the fruit fireworks. Flower Pot

6 or 8 inch clay pot

Americana Acrylic paint in red, white and blue

Sponge Brush

Masking tape

Using a sponge brush, paint the bottom of the clay pot with the red Americana acrylic paint then paint the rim of the clay pot with the white Americana paint. Let it dry completely; paint 1 - 2 more coats of paint and let it dry completely. Tape off stripes using the masking tape, and paint the inside of the stripe with the red acrylic paint, you will have to paint 2-3 coats, let it dry completely. Place a piece of Styrofoam in the inside of the clay pot; you may need to glue it to hold it into place. Now start decorating with the carnations, patriotic dcor and American flags.

Paint 2 stars with the Americana blue acrylic paint, 2 stars with the red paint and 2 stars with the white paint. Let it completely dry. Now using the Americana decou page, paint a thick coat onto the painted star and cover it with glitter, shake off the excess and set aside to dry. Next, using the glue dots, glue the stars to the ribbon even distance apart. Now you can hang it for a patriotic decoration.

Iron

Iron the bandanas. Depending on the size of your table, glue one end of the red bandana to one end of the white bandana then glue the other end of the white bandana to one end of the blue bandana. Be sure to Iron over the seams of the bandana to be sure they are nice and flat.

Place your white table cloth from Tuesday Mornings onto your table, and then place your Bandana Table runner over it in the middle of the table. Place your red placemat down then the white plate then the blue plate. You can then place a white napkin on top of the blue plate or wrap your silver wear up in the white napkin and place it on the side of the plate. Finish the look off with a yummy 4th of July decorated cake. You can also use red and white scrapbook paper to make a cone that can hold other party snacks like Twizzlers or popcorn. Just cut the 8 x 11 piece of scrapbook paper in half long ways, and roll it into a cone shape, adhere the edges with a glue dot.

First, wash and dry your strawberries, while you are doing this, start melting your Wilton candy melts in the Wilton Melting Pot, if you don't have a melting pot, you can follow the microwave instructions on the candy melt package. Once the white chocolate has melted, dip about half of the bottom of the strawberry into the white chocolate and then roll the tip of it in the blue sugar. Place the dipped strawberries on a plate and put them in the refrigerators for about 30 minutes to cool.

This is probably the easiest craft out there, cut your banana into " slices and place one banana on the firecracker skewer, then place a blueberry then another banana and another blueberry, follow these instructions until there is only enough room left on the stick to place the strawberry on the end of the stick, with the pointed side out.

Paint one star red, one star white and one star blue using the sponge brush, let the stars dry for 30 minutes, and then paint another coat on each star, let that dry another 30 minutes. Next, using the thin paint brush and the white paint, paint a U on the red star and an A on the blue star. Now paint an S on the white star with the blue paint. Let all of the paint dry for another 30 minutes. Place the stars in the USA order on top of the ribbon and adhere the ribbon to the stars with glue dots. Make a bow for the top of the hanger and hang it on your door or wall.
