HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Torrential rains that came with last week's severe weather could cause a surge in mosquitoes in some areas.
That's why starting Wednesday, the Brazoria County Mosquito Control District will begin aerial sprays county-wide.
The first aerial pass will begin early Wednesday morning. The county will then focus on small areas once officials assess the need.
Standing water, like that left behind from last week's storms, make for the perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
