This is our hottest week of the Summer, so far! We are feeling the heat and so are our dogs!

I love a popsicle on a hot day, and I'll bet your furry friend would like to cool off with a tasty frozen treat of their own.

You've probably seen dog ice cream in the freezer section of your local grocery store, but they can be expensive and the flavors are limited.

So why not make your own doggie pup-sicles?

I've been making these frozen treats for Nanook for years. They are super easy, and you can see she loves them!

Below are a couple of quick and easy recipes.

Doggie ice cream recipe #1:

  • 1 cup all natural peanut butter
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 ripe banana

Doggie ice cream recipe #2:

  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup water

You can get creative with your ingredients. Just avoid anything dogs shouldn't eat, like sugar, artificial sweeteners (like xylitol), grapes and chocolate.

If you decide to try to make your own DIY pup-sicles, please share your pics and videos with me on Facebook and Twitter.
