Blue Bell's new flavor comes on National Banana Split Day

BRENHAM, Texas (KTRK) -- While you might be on edge tomorrow dealing with a tropical system making landfall, you might find some comfort that this day is being marked with a tasty new flavor from Blue Bell Ice Cream.

The Brenham-based ice cream maker is unleashing its new Banana Split Sundae flavor just in time for the tasty day.

Blue Bell says the flavor includes creamy banana ice cream mixed with crushed pineapples, maraschino cherries and chopped roasted almonds, surrounded by swirls of strawberry and chocolate sundae sauces.

The flavor will be available in half gallon and pint sizes.

Given the new flavor and the potential for a power outage due to Harvey, buying a cooler and lots of ice would be ideal.
