Cool Spaces: Nonnie's Cafe
Nonnie's takes customers back in time for classic milkshakes, root beer floats and food that tastes homemade

TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- Tucked away in historic downtown Tomball is a quaint little cool space that gives ice cream lovers a taste of nostalgia.

Nonnie's Café & Soda Fountain pays tribute to the soda shops found on most 'Main Streets' in America in the 1950's. Upon entry, diners are greeted by servers dressed in attire from the era. The walls are covered with memorabilia, everything from record players to LP's to car models like Corvettes and Mustangs from the 1960's.

The menu is simple and all their food is homemade. Soups, sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled cheese and a plethora of desserts. The most popular items are of course their homemade ice cream and hand-drawn soda fountain drinks, where they pump the soda syrup and add the carbonated water the old-fashioned way.

"Adults love Nonnie's because it reminds them of their childhood, and they can share it with the next generation, their own children," says Manager Patricia Wilson. "We have the best customers, we really do."
