Selena remembered in emotional makeup tutorial
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- To celebrate the launch of the MAC x Selena collection, YouTube star Desi Perkins created what she's calling "one of the most meaningful makeup videos I've ever done."
Perkins transformed herself into the Queen of Tejano using several products from the Selena collection.
"I look up to Selena so much," said Perkins.
The video begins with an old interview of Selena describing how she wants to be remembered - and it nearly made us cry.
"I feel this really really deep connection to Selena. She's such a strong Latina, and she's so inspiring in so many ways," said Perkins. "The one thing I always loved about her was her energy, her strong, vibrant energy. She was someone you wanted to be around and I just loved her laugh. Everything about her was infectious."
Perkins said she was nervous about creating this video, but her finished look is on point.
"I was nervous because I love her so much and I don't want to mess it up," said Perkins.
However, the look is flawless and we think a lot of fans are interested in trying it out. MAC x Selena collection is currently sold out on Maccosmetics.com. However, MAC released a statement online saying the collection will be available through the websites of several major retailers.
