Man charged with murder after deadly shooting

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting in northeast Houston Monday night.

Marcus Menifee, 34, faces murder charges in the death of Marcus Stewart, 35.

Police say around 11:00pm Monday night, Menifee went to Stewart's home in the 7400 block of St. Louis and accused the victim of stealing money from him. Officers say Menifee left the property and later returned with a gun.

During the second confrontation, police say Menifee shot Stewart multiple times. The victim died a short time later at Ben Taub General Hospital.

Police arrested Menifee on Tuesday without incident.
