HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's almost time...
The wait is almost over for those of you who've been longing, since March, to get back that extra hour of sleep you lost when it was time for our clocks to "spring forward."
We "fall back" this weekend, officially turning our clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1st.
Baylor College of Medicine sleep experts acknowledge that this is definitely the easier of the two annual time changes, and we should all adjust within a couple of days. However, some of us will adjust more quickly than others depending on our natural sleep habits.
Which one are you?
BCM experts broke down different types of sleepers into the following categories for us:
"Sleep-deprived" individuals should take advantage of the extra hour to get back on track, and could benefit nicely from the extra hour, provided you don't try to use the extra hour to get more work done, or stay up even later than usual.
"Early risers" may have the most difficulty pushing the clock back. If your biologic clock urges you to wake up at that same early hour every day, start right now, pushing your bedtime back 15 minutes each night, with the hope that your body will welcome that extra hour of sleep. Otherwise, you could end up wide-eyed and awake too early Sunday morning.
"Night owls" love to stay up late, and should have little difficulty, says BCM, sleeping in on Sunday morning. Hooray for you! Enjoy the extra hour until the next time change.
