HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Thousands of people have collectively raised nearly half a million dollars for the family of Darren Goforth.
The Harris County sheriff's deputy was shot multiple times last month while putting gas in his patrol car. He was laid to rest Friday.

A GoFundMe page set up by a fellow deputy has raised just over $300,000, which is about $50,000 short of its goal. Meanwhile, volunteers at the gas station where Goorth was killed have raised $192,000
