Man's businesses hit by crooks 2 times in 2 days
For the second time this week, thieves broke into a business overseen by Alejandro Gomez

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- For the second time this week, Alejandro Gomez, found himself picking up the pieces of one of the check cashing businesses he oversees.

La Hacienda Meat Market in Bissonnet and Wilcrest in southwest Houston is home to a DoLex cash transfer location.

Gomez says thieves busted through the front window with a van, and tried to get away with the safe. He crashed his own car in the parking lot when he showed up, startled them, and they escaped. They didn't get any money but caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage.

It was the same unfortunate story for Gomez the day before, when Eyewitness News met him at another cash transfer location on Wirt Road. Thieves there also smashed into the business, causing serious damage but getting away with nothing.
