Near miss on marathon course
An elite marathoner was almost hit in the final stretch of the course by a half-marathon competitor

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Another runner almost knocked the winner of the Chevron Houston Marathon off-course in the final minute of the race.

A half marathon runner crossed a line of cones and almost trampled Birhanu Gedefa. He went on to win the race with a time of 2:08:03.

From the video, it appears that a man in a blue shirt tapped a runner in an orange shirt to tell her to move. The runner who almost hit Gedefa also tried to get out of his way. She accidentally crossed into the full marathon course. She and Gedefa manage to dance out of each other's paths.
