PUERTO RICO (KTRK) -- Houston Astros star shortstop Carlos Correa made a surprise visit to Houston police officers helping with hurricane recovery efforts in Puerto Rico.
Houston police shared a photo of Correa on Twitter with the officers holding a Puerto Rico flag with the caption, "Our officers in @PuertoRicoPUR got a surprise visit from @TeamCJCorrea of the World Champion #Houston @astros this week, who is also in #PuertoRico helping the community rebuild and recover."
The World Series champ also held a charity Saturday for more than 1,000 children affected by Hurricane Maria in his hometown of Santa Isabel.
Correa also arranged enough food to feed more than 5,000 people.
