Buc-ee's opens massive new location in Baytown

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- Beavers. Buc-ee's. Baytown.

Yes, one of the largest Buc-ee's locations in the state is finally open in Baytown. Buc-ee's opened the doors to its Baytown location this morning off the East Freeway at John Martin.

Like many things in Texas, this store is huge -- more than 60,000 square feet of space inside to be exact. That ties it with the Texas City location in terms of space with only the New Braunfels' location having a larger store front.

But the Baytown location does have one giant record. There are 96 fueling locations nestled under a canopy that's nearly three football fields long. And since we know you're wondering, gas is competitive if not cheaper than other gas stations in Baytown. It was $2.19 for regular on opening day.

Inside, you'll find 10 flavors of Icees, 20 soda flavors on the fountains, 24 flavors of freshly made fudge, more than 30 flavors of beef jerky and plenty of made to order sandwiches, wraps and BBQ.

There's also every type of snack and Texas-themed novelty item you can think of, and bag after bag of those famous Beaver Nuggets.

You'll also find what are some of the cleanest public restrooms, thanks in part to the fact there are two employees staffed for the sole purpose of cleaning them 24 hours a day.

Buc-ee's brings nearly 200 jobs to Baytown. The store is open 24/7 every day of the year.
