Boy killed in apparent accidental shooting in west Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A young boy has been killed in what authorities believe to be an accidental shooting in west Harris County.

The shooting happened at a home in the 21300 block of Finbury Oaks Lane.

According to officials at the scene with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, an 11-year-old boy was playing with a gun when he was fatally shot. The boy was home alone at the time, and his parents returned home and found him, authorities said.

An investigation is underway. The case will go to a grand jury to determine if the parents could face charges.
