Texas ranks third on TripAdvisor's best BBQ list

Texas is home to the world's biggest barbecue cook off. It happens every year right here in Houston.

But the online travel site TripAdvisor claims Texas is no longer king when it comes to the best BBQ.

The site ranked Texas third nationally on its List of states for the best BBQ, right behind North Carolina and Georgia.

Of course, not everyone agrees. One expert on the subject, a barbecue blogger from Georgia, says the ranking is bogus because its based on reviews and opinions without anyone from the site actually visiting the restaurants themselves.

TripAdvisor did give Texas the number one nod in one category. It named Franklin Barbecue in Austin, Texas as the best BBQ joint in the entire country. However, it was the only Texas joint in the top 10.
