Spa claims beer bath is the 'fountain of youth'

BOCA RATON, FL -- Call it the spa treatment for what "ales" you. A Florida spa will now bathe you in beer, WPBF-TV reports.

The spa owner in Boca Raton calls it the "fountain of youth" and claims you'll look younger after just one bath in beer. We should note that it's not just beer in the copper bathtub, but a secret recipe of ingredients including beer that Gayle Wentworth says balances the positive and negative ions in your body.

For $80, you get part spa treatment and a fifty minute soak in the tub that she claims is something of a cure-all.

"It detoxifies and purifies your body, exfoliates and hydrates your skin, and it makes your hair shiny," Wentworth said. "It's great for acne. It's also great for any skin lesions. It feels soft forever."

Wentworth says the beer bath will even help you sleep better and be less irritable.

There is one catch. Wentworth says there's no alcohol in the beer bath and advises customers not to drink the bath water.
