If you go to the BBQ cookoff at NRG, make sure to stay sober if you're driving

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The World Championship Barbecue Cook-off is under now at NRG Stadium. Law enforcement is going to pay extra attention, looking for drunk drivers.

A no-refusal initiative begins Thursday at 10pm. Last year, Harris County Sherriff's Office booked 70 DWI suspects during the rodeo season. Many of them were first time offenders and two were drivers with children in the car.

There were 9 fatalities.

There are plenty of options for you to get home safely. Get a designated driver, get a cab or take METRO rail or even a Rodeo shuttle that can take you to a satellite lot.

Uber says they can't tell drivers when to work, but with this busy nights ahead, you can expect to see more uber drivers. Just head over to the teal lot.
