Pasadena police probe officer-involved shooting

PASADENA, TX

It happened as offers were making a drug arrest around 7:45pm at a home in the 1400 block of Pecan Street.

Pasadena police say the suspect was wanted for selling marijuana. When officers entered the home to arrest him, they were greeted with a weapon.

"He did have a gun. He pulled a gun, an officer fired at him," Pasadena Police Department Spokesman Vance Mitchell said.

The suspect was hit twice, once in the arm and once in shoulder. He was taken to Bayshore Medical Center but his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

The officer who shot the suspect will spend some time on desk duty pending the outcome of an investigation, which is standard with officer-involved shootings.
