Man wanted, charged with murdering woman, injuring 3 others in southeast Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the deadly shooting of a woman and wounding three others in southeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to police, 51-year-old Kendrick Maurice Williams has been charged with the murder of a 44-year-old woman, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Williams also faces three counts of aggravated assault, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting on 9338 Fairland Drive at at 2:35 a.m. on Aug. 15, where police say they found a woman dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the driveway of a home. Authorities say that they found two women and a man with gunshot wounds at the scene, who were later taken to a nearby hospital.

An eyewitness told investigators that Williams was upset with his girlfriend when he went to the scene and found the four victims inside a vehicle in a driveway, police said. Williams later fired shots into the vehicle, hitting all four of them, according to officials.
