Our Deals Diva Kat Cosley tells us what you can leave at home to help lighten the load.
Most airlines charge for checked luggage and now some are even charging for carry-on's! If you're traveling with young kids consider leaving some necessities behind and renting when you get to your destination.
"We've got a wide variety of equipment," said Annie Swinford-Gonzales, owner of Rockabye Baby Rentals.
She started the company seven years ago specifically for families who travel. "Our service saves people money," she said.
Like other companies across the country, Swinford-Gonzales provides pretty much all the necessities an infant or toddler would need during their stay like car seats, high chairs, toys; even beds - and can be delivered to homes, offices, airports and hotels.
"When they arrive everything is already set up and ready to go all they need to do is put the baby down for a nap or in the high chair for a meal," she said.
Perfect for this grandma of three. "I didn't have the storage to keep a crib and all the items that comes with baby's or small children," said Mary Jaffe, "so it's been working terrifically."
Not to mention the money it would cost!
"For basically about $100 you can rent our toddler package which includes a full-sized crib with mattress and linens, a toddler car seat, stroller or high chair and a box of assorted toddler toys," said Swinford- Gonzales. "If they were to go out and purchase all of that they'd be spending on the low end $750 on the high-end possibly $1,500.
All items are thoroughly cleaned before being re-used. This service is available in parts of Texas, Louisiana and Alabama.
