A pilot practicing touch and go landings and takeoffs found things didn't go quite as planned, and his aircraft ended up in the trees.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office got the call from Hooks Airport near Tomball just minutes before noon. Authorities say the pilot somehow lost control during the touch-and-go maneuvers and the plane ran off the runway and went into the trees, where it came to a stop nose down.

The pilot is said to have suffered minimal injuries.
