Unexplained odor prompts temporary Pasadena shelter in place

City officials issued a temporary shelter-in-place call Sunday for an area of Pasadena near the far east end of Seabrook, but it was soon lifted.

The request was prompted by a inexplicable odor reported in the El Jardin subdivision.

People in the neighborhood, specifically the area surrounding Port Rd. and El Jardin, were asked to stay indoors, keep doors and windows closed and turn their air conditioning off.

The precautionary order was lifted and an all-clear was given by authorities, but the source of the strong smell remains unclear.
