Deputy loses control, crashes in ditch in northwest Harris County

A deputy was treated and released from the hospital after suffering injuries in an early morning accident.

A Harris County sheriff's deputy was injured in an accident in northwest Harris County this morning.

The accident happened around 4:30am off Barker Cypress and Clay Road.

The deputy was responding to an auto theft call when his cruiser hit a puddle of water. The deputy lost control, flew off of the road, went through a fence, hit a tree and landed in a ditch.

The deputy suffered minor injuries. He was treated and released from the hospital. No other cars were involved.
