An electrical problem is blamed for a train fire which shut down the Hardy Toll Road north bound for a few hours.

A train crew spotted flames coming from a Union Pacific locomotive around 10:30pm last night and called firefighters. When fire crews arrived they found smoke was pouring from the locomotive. They used fire extinguishers to put out flames.

They believe it was an electrical fire which started in a control panel.
