Texas Most Wanted fugitive nabbed in California

HOUSTON

Ricco Leo Torres, 33, was arrested Tuesday in Corona, California by a U.S. Marshals Service Task Force after the El Paso Crime Stoppers received a series of tips regarding his whereabouts, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Torres was wanted on charges of felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Authorities say Torres also has a violent criminal history, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and 13 arrests since 1997.

The person who provided authorities with the anonymous tip is expected to receive a reward of up to $10,000.

Anyone with information on any other fugitive can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
  • Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the "SUBMIT A TIP" link (under the "About" section).
All calls, texts, e-mails and Facebook messages are anonymous.
