Mexican delegation in Dallas to learn about courts

DALLAS, TX

The meeting between prosecutors, judges and delegation members starts Monday morning. U.S. Attorney Sarah Saldana's office says in a statement that the Mexican delegation is in Texas to learn about the American justice system.

Mexico's states are moving from an inquisitorial system to an accusatorial system -- like the one in the United States. The new system promises greater legal protections for defendants and a better reputation for Mexican courts.
