FBI: Two suspects arrested, accused in area bank robberies

HOUSTON

The FBI says at around 7:30am Thursday, two men attempted to rob the Wells Fargo at 12941 I-45 north. They did not get away with any cash and no one was hurt.

Then at around 9am, a Hispanic male robbed a nearby Capitol One Bank located at 153 Greens Road. FBI agents and HPD officers were in the area responding the attempt at the Wells Fargo, when they were notified of the second robbery. They were able to act quickly and arrested two men shortly after the Capital One robbery -- one black male and one Hispanic male.

Bank robbery charges are pending against the Hispanic male. He is suspected in both of Thursday's robberies as well as a robbery on Wednesday morning at the Chase Bank located at 213 W. Greens Rd. In the Chase Bank robbery, the suspect entered the bank, and handed the teller a threatening note which demanded money. He fled with some cash.

Charges are pending against the black male. He is suspected in the attempted robbery of the Wells Fargo.

The FBI says the investigation is ongoing.
