Family speaks after Dallas 911 caller slain

DALLAS, TX

Relatives of Deanna Cook have called a news conference Wednesday in Dallas.

Cook called 911 on Aug. 17, and the 911 call center sent two officers to her home. Police say call takers didn't make clear that the call was an emergency. Officers knocked on the door, received no response and left.

Cook's family forced their way into the home two days later and found her dead in her bathtub. Her ex-husband is charged with murder.

Police have announced changes to how 911 calls are logged and fired a call operator over the incident.
