According to Houston Transtar, the closure is necessary as crews continue to do repair work on the lanes. The lanes were supposed to be reopened at noon Wednesday, but Transtar says a problem with cement delivery delayed completion until around 6pm.
By 10pm, officials with TxDOT said crews were still out there working and did not have an estimated time for completion.
Houston Transtar is urging drivers to avoid the area if possible.
