Dallas Area Rapid Transit on Monday expanded its Orange Line into Irving.
DART says it's the first phase of the 14-mile, $1.3 billion Orange Line construction to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
The opening involves a 5.4 mile section from Bachman Station in Dallas into Irving. New stations are at the University of Dallas, Las Colinas Urban Center and the Irving Convention Center.
DART's 700-square-mile light rail and bus service area includes more than a dozen cities in North Texas.
