Turbulence on flight from Houston sends five to hospital

HOUSTON

Flight 1632 was 30 minutes into its flight Tuesday night when it hit an air pocket. At least five people had to be taken to the hospital, including 3 flight attendants.

One of the 76 passengers on board says it was chaos.

"People who weren't buckled in, the flight attendants were already up getting ready to start service, so they flew up," said passenger Jeff Hornback. "Several people flew up and hit the ceiling of the plane and then immediately were slammed down to the floor of the plane."

Hornback said he heard both the pilot and flight attendant say that they had not experienced turbulence like that in the 30 years they've been flying.
