Shots fired during EZ Money robbery

HOUSTON

At about 9:50am, a man wearing a ski mask came to the door of an EZ Money shop in the 12000 block of Richmond. Police say the clerk spotted him and immediately hit the panic button.

The suspect entered the store, jumped the counter and put a gun in the woman's face, demanding money. Police say he got an undisclosed amount of money and ran out the door.

As the suspect ran around the corner of the store he fired one shot, and then he fired a second shot as he ran towards a field between this store and a neighboring Walmart. No one was hit.

Police say the suspect ran into some bushes as their officers arrived. One HPD officer led the foot chase and a few minutes later they located the suspect.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Police have not yet said what charges he may face.
