Heavy rain, storms expected today, Friday

HOUSTON

Today's rain chance has been increased to 40 percent. Meteorologist Travis Herzog says some of our computer models have picked up on the increased moisture levels and are now showing a line of storms blowing in this afternoon from the west.

More widespread storms are expected on Friday. Then some rain will likely stick around into Saturday. Most neighborhoods are likely to get two to three inches of rain over the two days.

The biggest severe weather threats will be heavy, flooding rains and damaging winds, but hail and isolated tornadoes are possible.

ABC13 Chief Meteorologist Tim Heller says Mother Nature should deliver a nice day for Mother's Day though.

Meteorologist Travis Herzog will be following the storms today to let you know what to expect as you prepare for your day. Stay with Eyewitness News and abc13.com for updates as they become available.
